Even, we sent samples of NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) solvent to customers, but due to various and unavoidable reasons, the samples were not tested in time; when we had time to test the samples, we found that the data of each item did not meet the use standards. [What is NMPP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) solvent? ] NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) is a high-boiling organic substance with a chemical formula of C5H9NO. The samples we sent to customers (provided to customers for testing) are relatively concentrated, 99.9% electronic grade solvents, and the color is colorless and transparent. The color of the liquid will vary depending on the purity.

It is said that it has a slight smell of ammonia, but we cannot open the sample:

1. Because there is no protective equipment, it has a bad effect on the human body;

2. Because NMP solvent has strong water absorption and will absorb moisture in the air; if we open the sample, it will affect the purity of the sample.

So we found the reason, why the NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) sample received by the customer did not meet the standard after being placed for four months? Because of the geographical location, the local temperature and humidity climate will affect the performance changes of NMP solvent;

NMP solvent should be stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse, moisture-proof, and away from fire and heat sources. However, the climate in the country where the customer is located is relatively special, which will cause NMP solvent to be damp even if it is sealed in a container due to being placed for too long.

Although we have indicated in the product label that this product needs to be stored in moisture-proof and heat-proof storage methods, the customer may not have read it carefully, and our service staff did not carefully tell the customer how to store the product. This case also reminds us that because of the special nature of the product, whether the customer is very familiar with this product or not, they should be carefully informed of the relevant storage methods.

[Storage method of NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone) solvent]

1. Store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat sources. 2. Keep away from heat source steam pipes or places directly exposed to sunlight. 3. When transporting, load and unload gently, keep the packaging intact, and prevent leakage. 4. Under the specified storage conditions, the product shelf life is 1 year. 5. This product is chemically inactive and is non-corrosive to other metals such as carbon steel and aluminum except copper. 6. Store in sealed containers. Use galvanized iron barrels for packaging and store and transport according to general chemical regulations. 7. Avoid placing it together with oxidizing materials, organic peroxides or flammable materials.
